Designed with children aged 7-12 in mind (although open to all ages), this event invites participants to explore questions of identity and genetics through interactive games and craft activities.
Meet and hear from people working in the field of genetics and decorate a coloured fabric bag (in one of the four colours representing the nucleobases of DNA) with images of things that make you feel who you are! The finished bags will be displayed on a wall with an image of a double helix at Leamington Spa Museum and Art Gallery until December 2021, alongside other artwork exploring the crossovers between genes and identity.
This is a free event open to all ages and presented as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science. To enable social distancing, we can accommodate 2 families per workshop - just choose a time slot and book a free ticket. One ticket will enable up to 6 people to enter the workshop.
