Julia Donaldson & Friends: a Pocketful of Songs
Fantasic For Families

Part of Imagine Children's Festival

Julia Donaldson presents a musical show filled with much-loved characters, including Zog, The Highway Rat, Superworm and The Gruffalo. Together with Julia’s guitar-playing husband Malcolm, two actors and a four-piece band, the enormously successful author performs a medley of songs based on her picture books with Axel Scheffler. Funny and entertaining, the show encourages families to clap and sing along to songs based on the much-loved stories. This event celebrates the launch of A Pocketful of Songs, an illustrated book and CD. Before becoming one of the UK's most celebrated writers for children, Julia Donaldson began her career as a songwriter, creating songs for children's television and radio. She still enjoys performing her songs when she visits schools, theatres and book festivals. Many of her bestselling picture books, illustrated by Axel Scheffler, have been turned into animated films which have become family favourites on the BBC every Christmas.
