A family weekend adventure in the great outdoors
Just So Festival – the best UK arts festival for families? It’s certainly the most creative, having been set up by two young parents who wanted to enjoy creative experiences with their children, whilst also spending more time together as a family.
With a love of stories and childhood escapades at its heart, Just So enables families to step out of their day-to-day lives and into a wonderland of world-class theatre, literature, dance, music, and comedy together.
And it’s got a few accolades too – having won our own Fantastic for Families Best Family Event Award 2019 for last year’s Festival, which saw a record number of visitors descend on Cheshire's Rode Hall Estate for family-friendly shows, dance, music, circus, puppetry, and even cycling.
We asked Just So’s founders why they think the event is so popular with families: ”We wanted kids and grown-ups are be able to listen to stories round the campfire and laugh together or watch jaw-dropping circus which would have everyone spellbound.”
Want to go on a unique expedition to lands full of magical midnight feasts, curious creatures, and hidden retreats? Then grab yourself a ticket. As with any boutique festival worth your pennies, it’s also a great place to sample top notch food and a chance to get out and enjoy the beauty of nature.
And families keep coming back – for some the annual event has become an important family tradition and a place where memories have been made: “We’ve seen babies grow up into ten year olds around the campfire, and we’ve even seen some engagements!”
Give it a go and you may just find it sparks a love of nature across the generations.
Just So Festival takes place on the Rode Hall estate in Cheshire from Friday 16 - Sunday 18 August 2019. Find out more.
