Hereford's family-friendly arts centre The Courtyard were delighted to host The Big Latch On for the third year running last week.
The Big Latch On is a global event where mothers gather to breastfeed and offer peer support as well as socialising with other new parents.
This year over 40 mums took part in The Big Latch On and over 50 people attended the event, which included a range of stalls such as Hereford Nappy Library, Real Birth Studio and Botanical Birth showcasing their products and work.
Event organiser Alice Lucken, who works as an Infant Feeding Specialist Health Visitor said:
“Herefordshire Breastfeeding Support Services would like to thank all that attended our Big Global Latch On event and to all the many local services and businesses whose support helped to make the event a big success”.
Also on offer at the event were a variety of free activities for parents and children to take part in. Little Notes, Herefordshire Libraries and Yoga Louise delivered fun, interactive sessions whilst Caroline Houghton and Endless Entertainment offered face painting and balloon modelling.
The Courtyard launched its Babes in Arms film screenings at the event, kicking off the programme with a screening of Yesterday (12A).
The Courtyard’s Babes in Arms screenings aim to offer new parents or child carers the opportunity to get out of the house, socialise and enjoy great films whilst with their baby in a comfortable setting, without having to worry about disturbing others. Babes in Arms screenings will be programmed monthly and audience members must have a baby (up to 18 months) to attend. For more information visit courtyard.org.uk/babes-in-arms-screenings.
