1. Let's Move
Wednesday 12th August, £35.00 (for three days). From The Place. Recommended for ages: 8 - 17 years.
Join some of the UK’s leading dance artists and organisations for an online summer dance course for ages 8-17.
The Place and DanceEast have teamed up with DanceXchange, National Dance Company Wales, Pavilion Dance South West and Phoenix Dance Theatre to bring you high quality dance training direct to your own home! A vast range of dance styles will be on offer, from Creative Contemporary and Hip Hop to Commercial Jazz and company repertoire workshops.
Taking place across three days, there is something for everyone. Get involved!
2. Digital Dance Class
FREE. From DanceEast. Suitable for the whole family.
The Jerwood DanceHouse might be temporarily closed, but they haven’t stopped dancing, and you don’t have to either!
Join them for a class via their YouTube channel at a time that suits you Classes are live 24/7 and are suitable for all ages and abilities. Don't forget to do your warm up and cool downs!
FREE. From Made With Many. Recommended for ages: 2 - 16 years.
Dance artist Tina Heeley is back again getting us all moving with another seated dance that anyone can take part in! Tina has been a regular fixture in Made With Many's Time To programme, which saw her delivering dance sessions to many over 65s in local care homes and community centres. MadeAtHome activities are a new series of videos to give our communities new and exciting things to do during lockdown.
Use this creative activity to expend some energy or keep yourself fit and supple. What are you waiting for?
4. Creative Dance
FREE. From Mayflower Theatre. Recommended for ages: 4 - 16 years.
Join in with Hayley from Mayflower Theatre for this creative dance where you will be guided to learn a fun sequence which uses words as its inspiration.
Afterwards you will be able to use the creative task explained, to create your own dance. Anybody can enjoy and take part, with no previous dance experience required.
5. Hackney Fl!pped
Tuesday 11th August, 5pm - 6.30pm. From Mimbre. Recommended for ages: 8 - 14 years.
Join Mimbre Youth for a series of online creative workshops across the summer. The project gives participants a chance to learn a variety of different skills and to create their own choreographies. There will also be socially distanced outdoor sessions where the young people can film each other's choreography in a local setting in Hackney!
