This autumn, we’re shouting about the magic of museums. Summer is over and the great outdoors are looking slightly less appealing, so stay inside and have fun at your local museum.
Visiting a museum is a great activity for all the family – it encourages learning for children and parents alike, and can help families to bond by encouraging a shared interest.
From history to STEM, nature to art, there are hundreds of topics to discover. With interactive exhibitions, nature trails, talks, activities and more, visiting a museum is a great way to spend time as a family. Promote learning and get inspired this October by visiting your local museum!
In the North, families should head to Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle. Home to a wonderful collection of art, textiles and collectibles, Bowes Museum provides a whole host of family friendly events, such as arts and crafts and nature trails. Find details of upcoming events here.
In the Midlands, Thinktank Birmingham is everything you thought you knew about the world - but didn't! Their hands-on galleries allow guests to explore and understand the world they live in. With a science garden and plenty of free activities, plan your trip now.
In London, families can explore local history and London’s past at the Museum of London. From the first settlers in England’s capital to modern times, there is so much to learn and do! Find out more here.
