Celebrating 800 years since the foundation stones of the Cathedral were laid, Spirit and Endeavour is the Cathedral's largest contemporary art exhibition for nearly two decades. The works have been especially chosen to honour the achievements of the ordinary people who built a city and a cathedral of such distinction, with pieces featured across the Close and inside the Cathedral itself.

Three years in the planning, this exhibition brings together work from some of the most important and influential contemporary artists of the 20th and 21st century, including Antony Gormley, Shirazeh Houshiary, Henry Moore, Grayson Perry, Conrad Shawcross, Stanza and Mark Wallinger.

Curated by Jacquiline Creswell, Salisbury Cathedral’s Visual Arts Adviser.

The exhibition can be seen across the Close and inside the Cathedral. Entry tickets to the Cathedral must be booked to view the works inside – these are included in the ticket price. Further information about the exhibition and reserving your tickets can be found on Salisbury Cathedral's website.

It's a multidisciplinary art exhibition, taking place across the Close and inside the Cathedral. Some of the pieces are interactive and there are kids activity sheets to pick up as you go around which will help learn and understand the works.
