There’s no place like home? I don’t think so! In this week’s workshop, learn about world-building and jump through a magic portal, hitch a ride on a flying carpet, or follow a white rabbit through an impossibly tiny door – it’s time to step into a magical universe of your own creation. Who will you meet? A murderous mermaid? A daft dragon? A snazzy superhero? It’s all up to you – just make sure you’re back in time for your dinner!

This live and interactive online session will be led by Stephanie and Lauren from the Children’s Literature unit at Newcastle University. They're both writers and they've got tons of terrific techniques for creating characters, structuring storylines and putting pen to paper. There'll be plenty of opportunity to chat, ask questions and share your brilliant creations as part of the workshop.  Tickets are £10 per household. This event is aimed at children age 7-11 and their families. Younger siblings are welcome to join in but may need extra adult support.
