Fantasic For Families

 A family friendly contemporary art gallery - a hidden gem in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth.Aspex hosts a range of accessible workshops, including Mini Makers (early years activities every Wednesday, 10.30 - 11.30hrs), Family Saturdays (a creative workshop for all of the family, every Saturday, 11.00 - 13.00hrs) and Holiday Art Club (for children aged 8 through to 15 years, every Half Term).Aspex's workshops take inspiration from their exciting programme of exhibitions. We have a free craft table and a unique kid's section in our bespoke Craft Shop. Parents/guardians can also enjoy a coffee and pastry courtesy of our cafe partners, Southsea's leading artisanal bakery Bread Addiction.

Our family-friendly offer

 Aspex provides a range of inclusive arts activities, aiming to engage audiences with visual contemporary art. As of January 2018 two of their weekly workshops will be completely free:

  • Family Saturdays - every Saturday, 11.00 - 13.00hrs (all of the family)
  • Mini Makers - every Wednesday, 10.30 - 11.30hrs (early years)

General Admission to the gallery is also completely free. 

Aspex is also breast feeding friendly (part of the Portsmouth Breastfeeding Network) and has baby changing facilities.



Aspex Gallery is open 11.00 - 16.00hrs from Wednesday to Sunday, as well as Bank Holidays.

Parking is available via the Gunwharf Quays Underground Car Park.
