The Hepworth Wakefield is an award-winning art gallery in the heart of Yorkshire. Named after artist Barbara Hepworth, who was born and brought up in Wakefield, the gallery presents major exhibitions of international modern and contemporary art and has dedicated galleries exploring Hepworth’s art and work process.

EXPLORE & DRAW STATIONS
Look out for our Explore & Draw stations in the galleries. Borrow looking tools, handling objects and drawing materials to explore the galleries and create your own artworks. Suitable for families with children aged 0-12. Available at all times. FREE
OUTDOOR PLAY AREA
Burn off some energy in the outdoor play area equipped with climbing areas, swings, zip wires and much more!
Enjoy your packed lunch in our indoor family picnic area on weekends and holidays, or if the sun is shining, go outdoors for riverside views.

We welcome everyone to The Hepworth Wakefield and strive to make our activities as inclusive as possible. The gallery is accessible to wheelchair users, scooters and pushchairs and has ramp access to all areas. We have accessible toilet facilities, designated parking for blue badge holders and a lift to the upstairs galleries.
