Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art
Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) formerly the Chinese Arts Centre, is the national lead in bringing Chinese contemporary art and visual culture to a UK audience.
For the last 32 years CFCCA has led the UK in programming, showcasing and supporting artists from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the diaspora.
Through a rich programme of exhibitions, events, artist residencies, collaborations and research projects we explore and question the notion of Chineseness.
The CFCCA building located in the Northern Quarter on Thomas Street, comprises two gallery spaces, a purpose-built artist studio and residence, a shop, an Archive and Library and flexible events space on the lower floor.
Our galleries are free to enter and open daily, from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm (we are closed on Mondays)
Our work extends beyond the building through dynamic partnerships and collaborations nationally and internationally.
CFCCA is a registered charity which relies on the generous support of our audiences and partners. Your donation would enable us to continue creating meaningful experiences of contemporary Chinese visual culture to UK audiences. You can donate to CFCCA in person at our gallery, or online via our website.

Our family-friendly offer
Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) is committed to creating opportunities for a diverse audience to engage, interact and respond to our programme.
We work with a variety of local partner organisations alongside artists and practitioners to deliver a range of engagement activity closely linked to our programme, developing activities which will benefit and enrich the lives of a variety of audiences from young people to our local community.
For each exhibition we offer family activity trails for ages 5+, we also host family friendly workshops and activities throughout the year both onsite and with partner organisations such as Manchester Science Festival and Manchester Central Libraries.
Our building is fully accessible for wheelchair users. For visually impaired visitors we can provide large print guides to the exhibitions. Guide dogs welcome.
