Our family-friendly offer
Midlands Arts Centre (MAC) has always been a family friendly venue, after all, we started out as a centre for children and young people. As such, we strive to make ourselves as friendly – and functional – as possible. We do kindly ask parents, carers and guardians to stay with children at all times, unless they're booked onto a fully-supervised, paid-for activity.
Feeding Your Child
Please feel comfortable to breastfeed at MAC. Should you prefer privacy, a sofa is available in the large baby feeding/change room on the ground floor next to the café, but the choice is absolutely yours. There is a microwave available in the café for you to warm food or bottles for weaning children, and a bottle warmer is available in the baby feeding room. Our café also offers a wide range of children's meals.
Our baby change rooms have space for buggies and a nappy/wipe vending machine is also available in the main ground floor feeding room. We’ve tried to fill them with things you’ll need (hooks/shelves for changing bags, stools, soft mats, paper towels, sanitiser spray etc.)
Access for buggies
MAC's building is serviced by two lifts; one next to the Cinema and Arena Bar, and the other in Bridges Café Bar. These lifts and ramps make the building fully accessible for everyone moving around with wheels!
Things to do
We have a great range of events and activities aimed at children. Just check out our website for all of the details and look out for comedy, theatre, shows, festivals, creative workshops, sensory experiences, baby-friendly cinema, free drop-in activities, MAC Camps and much, much more!
MAC is committed to offering a welcoming and accessible environment in which everyone can feel comfortable.
We want to take the worry and difficulty out of your visit, so that you can focus on having a great time. We regularly work with consultants and artists to advise and evaluate what we do.
